Angela L. GidleyAssociate
Angela Gidley joined the firm in 2011 as an associate, concentrating her practice in the areas of business and utility law. She has advised and represented municipal, private for-profit, and private non-profit utilities, including electric, telecommunications, water and wastewater, and gas utilities. Ms. Gidley graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in May 2010. During law school, Ms. Gidley advised first year students through the Dean’s Tutorial Society, served as a guardian ad litem in Marion County through Kids’ Voice of Indiana and in Miami County, and was a member of the Order of the Barristers.
Ms. Gidley regularly advised Boards of Directors and management at multiple electric distribution cooperatives and related entities in the State of Indiana. She also advises several municipalities on issues including utility matters, planning and zoning, and annexation. Ms. Gidley has presented to human resources staff regarding HIPAA, HITECH, and GINA.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Gidley held the position of Associate Director of Government Affairs for a regional building trade association, where she monitored and reviewed proposed ordinances and facilitated discussions between trade association members and governmental entities.
Ms. Gidley is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana and the Federal District Court for both the Northern District of Indiana and the Southern District of Indiana.

Ms. Gidley is a member of the Indiana Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Boone County Bar Association, and the Electric Cooperative Bar Association. She served on the Indiana State Bar Association’s Utility Law Council (past-chair of the Telecommunications Division). She has served as the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Boone County Trails. Ms. Gidley is also a member of the Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association and is currently a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana program.
Ms. Gidley was awarded the John D. Weissert research award in 2004 for her research regarding the classification of information for the use in redevelopment of brownfield sites. In 2005, she received the American Institute of Certified Planners Planning Student Award and the Academic Excellence in Planning Award for her achievements as a student in the urban planning and development program at Ball State University.
