Travis Montgomery joined Parr Richey as an associate in 2011, concentrating his practice in civil litigation and appeals.  Based in the firm’s Indianapolis office, Mr. Montgomery has represented individuals and businesses throughout Indiana in a variety of matters, including property and casualty insurance disputes, employment discrimination, wage payment claims, enforceability of covenants not to compete, professional negligence, and more.  Mr. Montgomery has experience settling cases informally or through mediation, conducting jury and bench trials, and representing clients on appeal when necessary. However, his experience also allows him to provide advice and transactional assistance to individuals, businesses and utilities designed to minimize the risk of litigation.

Mr. Montgomery graduated magna cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2008.  While in law school, Mr. Montgomery served as a law clerk to the Michigan Poverty Law Program and a research assistant to several College of Law faculty members.  As a member of MSU Law’s Moot Court and Trial Advocacy Board, Mr. Montgomery represented the College of Law in national mock trial competitions.

Honors and Awards

Mr. Montgomery received the Henry King Stanford Scholarship from the University of Miami and was a two-time recipient of a Kappa Sigma Scholarship-Leadership Award while an undergraduate.  He received a Merit Scholarship from MSU Law where he also earned recognition for his achievements in Research, Writing & Advocacy and Disability Law.  In addition, Mr. Montgomery had the honor of serving as a Program Instructor at the Close-Up Foundation in Washington, D.C.
