Law Students

First and second year law students are regularly hired for summer clerkships, and part-time positions during the school year to perform legal research and assist attorneys in the handling of client responsibilities. Several of the firm’s current partners started out as law clerks in the firm while in law school.

The firm’s smaller size provides the chance for summer clerks to meet and become directly involved with clients and benefit from significant “face-time” with the firm’s partners. Our goal is to provide each summer clerk the same types of experience and exposure as we would a new attorney, recognizing, of course, that summer clerks are not yet authorized to practice law.

The firm provides the chance to become involved in interesting and challenging legal work covering different areas of the law early in a legal career.

Employment as a summer clerk is based on academic achievement, as demonstrated in law school and in undergraduate school. Law review, moot court or other research-oriented experience is desired. Extracurricular involvement, demonstrated work ethic and the ability to work in a team are also important factors in the hiring process.

Compensation for summer clerks is competitive with firms in the central Indiana market. The firm regularly conducts on-campus interviews at law schools around the state. If you are a law student interested in working at Parr Richey Frandsen Patterson Kruse LLP, please submit your resume, transcript and writing sample to:
